凤滩水电站位于湖南省怀化市境内沅水支流酉水下游，是一座以发电为主，兼有防洪、航运等综合效益的大（1）型水电站。水库总库容17.33亿m3，砼空腹重力拱坝，坝高112.5m，电站装机容量400MW（4×100MW）。该工程由原水利电力部长沙勘测设计院（我院前身）完成初步设计。1970年起，由原湖南省水利电力勘测设计院（我院前身）承担技施阶段设计。1970年开工，1979年竣工投产。

Fengtan Hydropower Station
Fengtan Hydropower Station located in Huaihua Municipality of Hunan Province, at the lower reach of Youshui River, which is the tributary of Yuanshui River. It is a large-scale (Grade I) plant, possesses comprehensive utilization benefits mainly for power generation, incorporated with flood control and navigation. The total reservoir capacity is 1.733 billion m3 with installed capacity of 400MW (4×100MW). There is a concrete hollow gravity arch dam with dam height of 87.5m. The Changsha Survey and Design Insitute of Water Resources and Power Ministry (former unit of HHPDI) provide the preliminary design of this Project. Since 1970, the Hunan Water Resources and Power Survey and Design Institute (former name of HHPDI) took the design for technical construction. The project was commenced in 1970 and completed in 1979.
