湖南省库容最大，调节性能最好、已建砼坝最高的电站。

    东江水电站位于湖南省郴州市境内湘江支流耒水上游，是一座以发电为主，兼有防洪、航运、供水等综合效益的大（1）型水电站。水库总库容91.55亿m3，砼双曲拱坝，坝高157m，电站装机容量500MW（4×125MW）。该工程由原湖南省水利电力勘测设计院（我院前身）完成初步设计。1978年复工兴建，1987年竣工投产。八十年代开始，后续设计工作由中南勘测设计研究院承担。

Dongjiang Hydropower Station
Dongjiang Hydropower Station is a plant with the largest storage capacity, the best regulation performance and the highest concrete dam at present in Hunan Province.
It is located in Chenzhou Municipality of Hunan Province, at the upper reach of Leishui River, which is the tributary of Xiangjiang River. The plant, as a large-scale (Grade I) Hydropower Station, possesses comprehensive utilization benefits mainly for power generation, incorporated with flood control, navigation and water supply. The total reservoir capacity is 9.155 billion m3 with installed capacity of 500MW (4×125MW). There is a double arch concrete dam with dam height of 157m. The project is preliminarily designed by Hunan Hydro & Power Design Institute. Since 1980’s, the follow-up design is taken by the Center South Survey and Design Institute. The project was commenced in 1978 and completed in 1987.
