株洲航电枢纽工程位于湖南省株洲市境内湘江干流中下游，是一个以航运为主，航电结合，兼有交通、供水、养殖等综合效益的大（2）型水运工程，极大地改善了衡阳至岳阳400多公里湘江千吨级航道。2002年开工，2006年建成。水库总库容12.45亿m3。船闸为Ⅲ级，通航标准为一顶四艘千吨级。砼闸坝，坝高31.2m。低水头径流式电站，河床式厂房，装机容量140MW（5×28MW）。灯泡贯流式水轮发电机组，水轮机转轮直径7.5m，最大水头11.3m，额定水头6.7m，最小水头3m。本工程富有特色的枢纽布置、卓有成效的复杂基础处理又一次显示了湖南院的技术水平。

It has a bulb tubular unit power station with the largest turbine runner diameter in China then. 

It is the demonstration project assigned by Ministry of Transportation. 

Zhuzhou Navigation & Power Complex is located in the middle and lower reach of the Xiangjiang River main stream within the Zhuzhou Municipality of Hunan Province. It is a Grade II large scale (Grade Ⅱ) water-traffic project mainly for navigation, accompanied with comprehensive benefits as power generation, transportation, water supply, aquatic breeding, etc. The project significantly improves the 400km kiloton waterway in the Xiangjiang River from Hengyang to Yueyang. Construction of the Project started in 2002 and accomplished in 2006. Its reservoir has the total capacity of 1.245 billion m3. The navigation lock ranks as Grade III and has the navigation standard of four kiloton ship in one uplifting. The concrete gate dam has the height of 31.2m. The project includes a low water head runoff power station and a power house in river channel. The total installed capacity is 140MW (5×28MW). The power station adopts bulb type tubular units and diameter of the runner is 7.5m, maximum head of 11.3m, rated head of 6.7m and minimum head of 3m.

The distinctive layout and the effective treatment to the complicated foundation of this Project once again demonstrate the technical levels of HHPDI.
