    韶山灌区位于湖南省湘江中下游丘陵地区，横跨双峰、湘乡、湘潭、韶山、宁乡、望城6县市，设计灌溉面积6.67万hm2，属大型综合性水利工程。灌区以水府庙水库为主水源，总库容5.6亿m3，电站装机容量30MW，通过洋潭水利枢纽将水引入总长240km的干渠和1600km的支渠，各级配套渠系、隧洞、渡槽等长达8740km。沿渠串联5万多处中小型水库、塘坝、机电排灌站、水轮泵站，形成蓄、引、提水和大、中、小型工程相结合的“长滕结瓜”灌溉系统。灌区中“三湘分流”、“银河渡槽”等著名建筑物被纳入一些教科书作为实例。

It is the largest irrigation area in Hunan Province. 

Shaoshan Irrigation Area located in hilly regions at middle and lower reaches of the Xiangjiang River of Hunan Province. The project covers six counties and municipals, namely Shuangfeng, Xiangxiang, Xiangtan, Shaoshan, Ningxiang and Wangcheng. It has the design irrigation area of 66,700 hm2 and belongs to large comprehensive hydro project. The irrigation area takes Shuifumiao Reservoir as the water source. The reservoir has the total capacity of 560 million m3 and the installed capacity of the power station is 30MW. Through Yangtan Hydro Complex, water is diverted into the 240km-long main canal and the 1,600km-long branch canals. Canal system, tunnels and aqueducts of all levels amount to 8,740km. Along the canals, it links more than 50,000 middle or small reservoirs, ponds, electrical drainage-irrigation pumping station, pumping stations, which formed the irrigation system constitute by large, middle and small hydro projects and has the functions of water storing, diverting and water lifting. Some famous structures like “Diversions of Xiangjiang River”and “Milky Way Aqueduct”are taken as the example in some textbooks.
