双牌水电站位于湖南省双牌县境内湘江支流潇水下游，是一个以发电为主，兼有灌溉、防洪、航运、养殖等综合效益的中型水电枢纽工程。1958年开工，1963年2台3MW机组投产，后经扩建并于1979年建成。水库总库容6.9亿m3。双支墩大头坝，坝高58.8m。坝后式电站，装机容量135MW（3×45MW）。坝基预应力锚固总吨位9.6万吨，国内最早成功采用预应力锚固技术进行坝基加固处理，对后来类似工程具有深远的指导与借鉴意义，并被编入诸多专门的教材。

Shuangpai Hydropower Station is located in Shuangpai County of Hunan Province, at downstream of Xiaoshui River, the tributary of Xiangjiang River. It is a medium-sized hydropower complex, mainly engaged in power generation, compatible with irrigation, flood control, navigation, and aquaculture, etc. Construction of the Project started in 1958, and in 1963, the first two 3MW unit were put into service. And in 1979, the Project was extended and accomplished. The total storage capacity is 690 million m3. It is built with double-pier buttress dam with crest height 58.8m, power station at dam toe, with installed capacity of 135MW (3×45MW). The total weight of dam foundation prestress anchor is 96 thousand Ton. It is the earliest adoption of prestress anchor technology to perform strengthening treatment to dam foundation in China, which provide instruction and reference to the following similar projects, and be compiled into many professional teaching materials.
